Job Description
This role is primarily hybrid with occasional (up to twice per month) meetings in Bethlehem, PA.
We are a small but passionate team building a ticket resale marketplace (similar to StubHub or SeatGeek). We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated software engineer to join our team as a full time contractor. This role is primarily hybrid with occasional (up to twice per month) meetings in Bethlehem, PA.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain the backend of our Site using Python and Django.
• Implement best practice Python/Django patterns and standards.
• Write and maintain unit tests, with an appreciation for test-driven development.
• Work closely with the product team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and integrate APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party services.
• Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement new features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
Requirements:
• Located within 100 miles of Bethlehem, PA
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• At least 3 years of experience working with Python.
• Experience with Python type annotations and unit tests.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with Git and experience with code reviews.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a distributed team.
Nice to Have:
• At least 1 year of experience working with Django.
• Experience at a startup.
• Experience in the ticket, concert, or sporting event industry.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React) to collaborate with front-end developers or work full-stack
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker).
