Job Description
Objective: Set up a comprehensive shipping module for an existing Magento 2.4.7 portal, providing real-time shipping rates, supporting international shipping options, and enabling detailed tracking functionality to enhance customer experience and streamline shipping operations.
Key Functional Requirements:
1. Shipping Options
Domestic & International Shipping: Configure options for both local and international customers to ensure seamless fulfillment across regions.
Real-Time Rate Calculation: Integrate with carriers ( UPS & FedEx) to retrieve and display real-time shipping rates at checkout.
Multi-Tier Shipping Options: Offer customers multiple choices like standard, express, and priority shipping, with corresponding delivery timelines and costs.
Free Shipping Threshold: Enable a configurable free shipping threshold based on cart total to encourage larger purchases.
2. Shipping Features
Address Verification: Implement address validation to minimize errors and ensure accurate delivery.
Shipping Rules & Restrictions: Configure rules for weight, volume, and destination-based restrictions for enhanced shipping control.
Delivery Time Estimation: Display estimated delivery dates at checkout, based on selected shipping method and region.
Custom Shipping Rates: Provide options for custom flat rates or tiered rates, tailored to specific regions or product categories.
3. Tracking & Notifications
Order Tracking: Generate tracking IDs and provide real-time order tracking via the order details page and automated email notifications.
Automated Notifications: Notify customers at key stages (e.g., “Shipped,” “Out for Delivery,” “Delivered”) to keep them informed throughout the shipping process.
Returns & RMA Support: Enable customers to initiate returns directly from their order page, facilitating exchanges or refunds in line with store policies.
Data & Reporting Requirements
Shipping Data Reports
Shipping Cost Summary: Report on shipping costs by carrier, region, and method to help track expenses and optimize shipping strategies.
Delivery Performance Report: Compare estimated and actual delivery times to identify any trends or delays in delivery.
Order Location Analysis: Analyze destination trends to optimize shipping zones and inform inventory positioning decisions.
