Job Description
Hello. Our site helps dog lovers find stories + stuff to make them happy (media like books, art, movies etc..).
We are looking to hire someone QUICKLY who can:
edit a wordpress theme to have the stylistic changes we want including making two custom templates--one is a clean minimalist page and the other is a minimalist page with widgets on the side.
Some modifications you will make based upon our mock up of the design and verbal instructions include:
- things like a custom menu. custom header, change how metadata is displayed, change image display dimensions and shape, change font options for hyperspecific things like headlines for sections, draw boxes with headers around page sections and create specific styles for different content types , etc..
2) create new fields with editable options in wordpress allowing us to create a taxonomy for different categories such as type (movie, book, art, cartoon etc..); rating (1-5 paws up); date book published; mood; theme/topic; genre etc..
3) In an ideal world you would also understand how to create or know of a script/plugin you can program to create an advanced search engine where people can search on all the different criteria we just asked you to make in part #2 above.
We are hoping to do this site in a phased way--first we want the changes above. Then if we find the person who is a great fit with us, we want to expand functionality to include a shop, sections on featuring dogs up for adoption, login/admin for saving their collections of books etc. they want, and so on. But that is NOT the project task now.
The candidate most likely to get the project meets these criteria:
Responds with a DETAILED response explaining how they would go about meeting our goals with DETAILS of what plugins or additional resources they would need/use, how long it would take to do what we want, an estimated RANGE of what you would charge
Speaks English and is ready to start ASAP
Can work from mockup illustrations and links to sites as examples to se what we want and program from that
