The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in software engineering and devops to join our dynamic team. This role involves researching, designing, developing and/or modifying software systems. (e.g., custom, COTS, GOTS) You will help with system improvement and enhacements, while also contributing to new development initiatives. Responsibilities:
• Lead the maintenance and management of current web servers
• Spearhead migration efforts to newer Linux OS versions
• Ensure seamless functionality during upgrades, particularly with CASPORT authorization
• Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions
• Architect improvements to existing web infrastructures
• Implements strategic goals and establishes operational plans for technical area
• Develops and implements innovative products, processes, standards, or operational plans through research and integration of best practices
• Significantly improves existing processes and practices
• Communicates with executive leadership
• Provides measurable input into new products, processes, systems, and operational plans with impact on overall function results
• Demonstrates technical innovation in supporting business objectives and mission
• Responsible for improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation
• Tackles numerous, typically undefined problems requiring extensive investigation and leveraging of technical knowledge
• Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, including external stakeholders
• Works to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
• Provides guidance, coaching, and training to other technical employees across the Company
• Leads large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance involving cross-functional teams
• Serves as a subject matter expert within the organization

Qualifications:

Required:
• 12 years in software development with a B.S. degree, or 14-16 years of experience without a degree.
• At least 10+ years of recent experience developing in JavaScript and PHP.
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience developing software in Linux, Windows, or Mac OS environments.
• Proficiency in MS SQL, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and GIT for version control and collaboration.
• Interface with researchers to gather and interpret complex requirements
• Break down requirements into actionable milestones
• Communicate milestones effectively to team members and stakeholders
• Utilize project tracking tools like Jira
• Document architecture in Confluence

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$109,800 - $241,600
