Position Overview

We seek a seasoned DevOps Engineer with robust software development expertise (preferably in Java or similar languages) on Unix platforms. Following a one-month intensive training program to become a Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead and execute large-scale migration initiatives within a designated stream. This role demands close collaboration with functional SMEs to strategize and implement migrations, leveraging skills in Autosys, CI/CD pipelines, environment setup, testing, and automation. The ideal candidate will excel in troubleshooting deployments, optimizing workflows, and adhering to change management protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Migration & Deployment Execution
• Complete intensive training to master migration processes and tools.
• Partner with SMEs to plan, coordinate, and execute migrations, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Configure lower environments, deploy software via CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), and validate deployments.
• Conduct UAT/production parallel tests, analyze outcomes, and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to change management protocols to mitigate risks.
• Batch Scheduling & Automation
• Manage Autosys/Procmon instances to optimize batch workflows and troubleshoot job failures.
• Develop automation scripts (Shell/Python) and tools to enhance migration efficiency.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform (preferred).
• Planning, Collaboration & Documentation
• Design migration plans with risk assessments, rollback strategies, and pre-mortem reviews.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (QA, developers, infrastructure) to align timelines and resolve issues.
• Document processes, communicate updates to stakeholders, and provide post-migration validation support.

Qualifications
• Core Experience:
• - 5+ years in software development/DevOps, including 2+ years as a DevOps Engineer.
• - Proven track record in batch system migrations, environment setup, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical Skills:
• - Proficient in Unix/Linux, Shell/Python/Perl scripting, and Java/Python development.
• - Hands-on experience with Autosys (job creation, troubleshooting), Jenkins, GitLab, or SVN.
• - Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform), SDLC processes, and database systems (e.g., Sybase).
• Testing & Deployment:
• - Expertise in UAT execution, debugging, and test automation frameworks.
• Soft Skills:
• - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities under pressure.
• - Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder updates.
• Tools & Certifications:
• - Proficiency in Eclipse/IntelliJ, Cron/Control-M, and change management tools.
• - Autosys certification (preferred).
