DevOps Engineer – QA Testing We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA)/Test Engineer to join our agile team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience. Preferred experience in DevOps practices with an emphasis on automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and quality control processes to ensure the delivery of robust, high-quality software.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with development teams to understand code changes and feature enhancements to determine appropriate testing strategies.
• Create and execute tests within an agile methodology.
• Develop test cases, execute them, and collaborate when there are issues. Troubleshoot, isolate, and document bugs and defects, working closely with developers to ensure prompt resolutions.
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks and strategies to facilitate continuous integration and deployment.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts, tools, and environments for performance, load, and stress testing.
• Ensure code is tested at the appropriate levels (unit, API, integration, system) and oversee the creation of test plans and test cases.
• Manage and enhance the CI/CD pipeline, integrating automated testing, and ensuring a seamless path to production.
• Monitor and improve metrics related to the quality of the build and deployment processes, such as code coverage and build pass rates.
• Foster a culture of quality and accountability by incorporating best practices in coding, testing, and operational readiness.
• Stay current on the latest industry trends in DevOps, automated testing, and continuous delivery; implement these innovations where appropriate.
• Facilitate communication between the QA, development, and operations teams to ensure alignment of objectives and optimization of testing processes.
• Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ Years equivalent work experience.
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
• Required:Must be a clearable U.S. Citizen, able to obtain a Government Security Clearance of SECRET.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate complex issues and technologies.
• Must possess Government Security Clearance of SECRET
• Desired:I am proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Cucumber) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Solid understanding of source control (Git) and branching strategies.
Work Environment:
• This position may require on-call availability and occasional overtime.
• Participation in disaster recovery drills and activities.
• Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site system maintenance and troubleshooting.
