Position Overview:
We are seeking an AI and Data Scientist to join our ultrasound team, focused on revolutionizing the ultrasound imaging field with cutting-edge AI and computer vision techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and data science, with an interest in medical imaging, specifically ultrasound. You will play a key role in advancing our diagnostic capabilities, developing innovative algorithms, and helping build AI-powered systems to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and usability of ultrasound technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop AI Models: Design, train, and deploy machine learning models, particularly deep learning models, for ultrasound image analysis, including segmentation, classification, and anomaly detection.
• Computer Vision Expertise: Apply computer vision techniques to interpret complex ultrasound images, using state-of-the-art methodologies such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and other deep learning approaches.
• Data Analysis and Management: Work with large sets of ultrasound data, including labeled and unlabeled datasets, to pre-process, clean, and analyze data to identify patterns and insights that can drive model development.
• Collaboration with Medical Experts: Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians, and other stakeholders to understand the challenges in ultrasound imaging, ensuring AI models address real-world clinical needs.
• Algorithm Development & Optimization: Continuously improve algorithms for accuracy, speed, and robustness in real-time ultrasound image analysis, considering hardware constraints in clinical environments.
• Performance Evaluation: Design and implement robust testing frameworks to assess model performance, including precision, recall, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Research & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, computer vision, and medical imaging research to implement innovative solutions in ultrasound.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of methodologies, algorithms, and research findings for internal knowledge sharing and publication purposes.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI, machine learning, or computer vision.
• Experience:
• * 15+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, and data science roles.
• Proven experience with computer vision tasks, such as image segmentation, object detection, and pattern recognition, particularly with medical imaging data (preferably ultrasound).
• Solid experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.) and handling large medical datasets
• Technical Skills:
• * Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in libraries like OpenCV, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and other AI/ML tools.
• Proficiency in developing, training, and evaluating deep learning models for image-based applications.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and distributed computing environments.
• Familiarity with medical image formats (e.g., DICOM) and related processing libraries.
• Data Management & Analysis Skills:
• * Expertise in data cleaning, augmentation, and preparation for model development.
• Experience with handling both structured and unstructured data sources and integrating them into AI models.
• Medical Imaging Knowledge:
• * A solid understanding of ultrasound technology and medical imaging principles.
• Familiarity with medical image annotation and the challenges of real-world clinical data.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation:
• * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative mindset for developing new AI-driven solutions.
• Ability to think critically and adapt to rapidly evolving technologies and healthcare needs.
• Communication & Teamwork:
• * Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including clinicians and medical professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with reinforcement learning and/or unsupervised learning in medical image processing.
• Background in healthcare and clinical workflows.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to medical AI (e.g., FDA, CE mark).
• Experience with real-time systems, especially in a healthcare environment.
• Contributions to published research or patents related to AI and ultrasound imaging.
