Company Overview
Brechbill Trailer Sales is a growing trailer sales company headquartered in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. We have built our own custom CRM over the past three years using CodeIgniter 3, with an ongoing transition to CodeIgniter 4. This CRM integrates with WordPress, Dialpad, Amazon, and Teamup Calendar to support critical business operations.
We are looking for an in-house developer to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with our in-house software designer, our WordPress manager, and our remote lead developer to maintain and enhance this vital system.
Position Summary
In this full-time role, you will develop, troubleshoot, and optimize our custom CRM built in CodeIgniter (3 and 4). You’ll be responsible for writing clean, efficient PHP code, implementing new features, and ensuring smooth integrations with external APIs. Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, thrives on collaboration, and is excited about working on a high-impact internal system.
Key Responsibilities
• Build & Maintain Features: Develop new components and improve existing functionalities within the CRM (CodeIgniter framework).
• Database Management: Design and optimize MySQL database schemas and queries.
• API Integrations: Work with REST APIs for services like WordPress, Dialpad, Amazon, and Teamup Calendar.
• Collaborate with Team: Regularly communicate with our in-house software designer, WordPress manager, and remote lead developer for task coordination and code reviews.
• Git & Deployment Workflow: Use Git for version control, manage pull requests to a staging environment, and coordinate production deployments with the remote developer.
• CI3 → CI4 Migration Assistance: Contribute to the ongoing transition to CodeIgniter 4, troubleshooting any migration issues.
Required Qualifications
• PHP & CodeIgniter Expertise: 2+ years of professional experience in PHP, with direct exposure to CodeIgniter or similar MVC frameworks.
• MySQL Proficiency: Strong understanding of relational databases, indexing, and query optimization.
• Git & Version Control: Familiarity with branching, merging, and pull request workflows.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to debug complex issues and find efficient solutions independently.
• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable working with both local and remote team members.
• On-Site Availability: Must be able to work at our Chambersburg, PA location (40–45 hours per week).
Preferred Qualifications
• CodeIgniter 4: Hands-on experience or familiarity with the new framework structure and features.
• Front-End Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (or jQuery).
• Additional Frameworks: Experience with other modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
• API Experience: Building and consuming RESTful APIs with various authentication methods.
