Job Description

Quality Assurance / Test Engineering Manager

Location: Hybrid (**this role is based in the DC Metro Area** & will be hybrid on-site in the Tysons Corner, Virginia area)

About the Role

We are expanding our testing team and looking for a Quality Assurance / Test Engineering Manager to drive a test automation-first strategy while maintaining high-quality standards. With two talented test engineers already in place, this role will focus on establishing processes, defining automation frameworks, and embedding quality into the development lifecycle.

As a leader, you’ll work closely with developers, DevOps teams, and Agile squads to ensure our software meets acceptance criteria and best-in-class quality. If you love building test automation frameworks, guiding engineers, and collaborating in a SAFe and DevOps environment, this is your chance to make a big impact.

Key Responsibilities
• Define, refine, and implement testing methodologies that promote automation, efficiency, and scalability.
• Set standards and processes by which all test engineers will work.
• Oversee and mentor two test engineers who are already excelling in their roles.
• Drive the transition from manual to automated testing using RAINtest and other tools to ensure acceptance criteria are met.
• Develop and execute test automation strategies, including writing test suites, scripts, and automated test cases.
• Collaborate with Agile development teams to validate each user story through rigorous testing.
• Work within the Microsoft DevOps stack—repos are fully managed within this ecosystem, so familiarity with MS DevOps is a plus.
• Ensure test integration within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps frameworks.
• Partner with stakeholders, including Tammy and Doug, to determine the best test frameworks (though the specific toolset is flexible).
• Lead testing efforts across both internal platforms and external-facing portals.
• Provide hands-on testing when needed, but primarily focus on leadership, strategy, and automation.
• Promote a quality-driven mindset within Agile and DevOps environments.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in test automation, including writing and executing test suites, scripts, and regression tests.
• Management/leadership experience, particularly in QA/test engineering teams.
• Hands-on expertise in automated testing tools and frameworks
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps stack for managing repositories, pipelines, and deployments.
• Background in SAFe Agile environments with experience supporting automated and manual testing.
• D365 (Dynamics 365) experience is highly preferred, but familiarity with other CRM-based applications is also acceptable.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product teams, and business stakeholders.

Why Join Us?
• Be a key player in building and shaping the testing function within the organization.
• Work with cutting-edge technologies and help transition the company into automated testing.
• Hybrid work environment with flexibility.
• Competitive Salary Packages
• 10% Match on Retirement... you read that correctly :) 10%!
• Comprehensive benefits packages
• Generous PTO & holidays
• Professional development, training and career advancement opportunities
• parental leave and family support
• and much more!

If you are passionate about quality assurance, automation, and driving testing excellence, we would love to hear from you!
