Job Profile Title

Job Description Summary
The Salesforce Administrator will support the ongoing development
of the University of Pennsylvania Development and Alumni Relations
(DAR) Salesforce deployment. The successful candidate will have a
record of success in improving processes and adoption using the
Salesforce platform. The administrator will work closely with
functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter
experts to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes
including: Fundraising, Marketing, Outreach, and our core program
business processes. This position will be largely involved with
requirements gathering, crafting acceptance criteria for
enhancement requests, and system testing. This role is part
technical project manager, part administrator and part Salesforce
analyst. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for
executing the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and
improvement of our CRM Platform.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
• Serve as the system administrator for the Salesforce
environment with nearly 1,000 users (extended beyond DAR
staff)
• Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of new
development requests
• Work independently with members of the user community to define
and document development requirements and write acceptance criteria
for new system enhancements for both the administrator and team
members
• Work with our institutional management team to establish
suitable processes to support administrative, development, and
change management activities
• Review and update existing system documentation, as well as
write new system documentation, as adjustments and enhancements are
moved to the Production environment
• Test system enhancements in sandbox environments prior to
deployments and coordinate user acceptance testing with end users
prior to deployments
• Move changes to the production environment using an established
deployment tool and pipeline
• Seek out ways to utilize Salesforce to improve processes and
productivity, and make recommendations to support an organization
scaling at a rapid pace
• Perform administrative functions, including but not limited to
user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, data loads, and
other tasks
• Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for
upgrades
• Manage Salesforce data feeds and other integrations
• Collaborate with the training team in the training of new
users, and grow Salesforce skill sets across the organization
• Effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors, and
the application development teams
• Provide a high level of customer service and help desk support
to internal staff members

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of experience (Job Profile
Salesforce Administrator) or 3-5 years of experience (Job Profile
Salesforce Administrator Senior) or equivalent combination of
education and experience is required
• Minimum two years of experience as a Salesforce
administrator
• Salesforce Admin (ADM201) certified
• Proven ability to design and implement new processes and
facilitate user adoption
• Demonstrated ability to work with system users to develop new
requirements and craft acceptance criteria
• Strong business analysis and functional experience, including
requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end
users
• Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build
custom apps and objects, formula fields, flows, custom views, and
other content of intermediate complexity
• Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and
functionality
• Strong data management abilities
• A documented history of successfully driving projects to
completion
• A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex
requirements
• Experience using Salesforce data tools, such as Data Loader and
the Data Import Wizard
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving
skills
• Demonstrated ability to write and update system
documentation
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation
skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both
business and technical teams
Preferred Experience, but not Required
• Experience with nonprofit processes and/or Higher Education
preferred
• Experience with the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)
preferred
• Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment
preferred
• Experience with Marketing Cloud preferred
