About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) to join our team in St. Petersburg, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our web applications and infrastructure. As a senior-level engineer, you will also play a key role in technical decision-making and guide the backend development team.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain robust backend systems using Node.js
• Develop scalable and high-performance RESTful APIs
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient integration with the front-end
• Implement DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment
• Contribute to the evolution of our cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Provide leadership in technical decision-making and mentor junior team members
• Optimize database performance and ensure data consistency using MySQL
• Collaborate in version control using Git and maintain code quality across the team

Must-Have Qualifications

✔ 8+ years of professional backend development experience

✔ Expertise in Node.js and backend architecture

✔ Strong understanding and experience with MySQL databases

✔ Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

✔ Proven ability to build and maintain scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs

✔ Strong leadership capabilities, including technical guidance and mentoring

✔ Proficient in Git and collaborative development workflows

✔ Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

✔ Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community
• Familiarity with the Next.js framework and its concepts
• Experience programming for or implementing eCommerce solutions
• Strong React development skills

Compensation & Benefits

💵 Competitive Salary: $155,000 - $165,000 (commensurate with experience)
