Job Title: Senior Front-End Engineer (Vue.js, Laravel)

The Role

GovExec is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to help build and enhance our GovTribe product. In this role, you will take ownership of front-end architecture and user-facing functionality, ensuring performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices. While your primary focus will be on front-end development with Vue.js, you’ll also collaborate closely with the back-end team (Laravel, PHP) to create a seamless and powerful user experience.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience building complex front-end applications, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of translating product requirements into highly performant, maintainable code. You will work with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to plan sprints, build features, and deliver robust solutions that delight our users.**

Responsibilities
Front-End Architecture & Development
• Write clean, modular, and scalable code in JavaScript (Vue.js) that interacts with a RESTful API built in Laravel.
• Optimize application performance, bundle sizes, and load times, with a focus on SEO, mobile performance, and accessibility.**

Sprint Planning & Execution
• Collaborate with the GovTribe Product Manager, Customer Success Managers, and leadership to define priorities and scope for upcoming sprints.
• Convert feature requests into clear requirement definitions and user stories.

Code Review & Testing
• Develop in feature branches, regularly pushing commits and reviewing work with team members.
• Create and maintain test coverage (unit, integration, and end-to-end) that integrates with our continuous integration pipeline.

Deployment & Monitoring
• Participate in the deployment of new releases of GovTribe, ensuring smooth rollouts and minimal downtime.
• Monitor bugs, gather user feedback, and promptly address issues in production.

Collaboration & Innovation
• Work cross-functionally with designers, product owners, and back-end engineers to deliver cohesive features.
• Bring new ideas, libraries, and front-end tools to the table—whether it’s a new charting library, push messaging platform, or anything that enhances the user experience.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of full-time software development experience, with a significant focus on front-end development.

Technical Skills
• Expert-level JavaScript proficiency and 5+ years of Vue.js experience.
• Comfortable working with PHP and Laravel on the back end, with a deep understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Expertise with MongoDB and Elasticsearch for data handling and search functionality.
• Proven ability to optimize front-end performance and ensure best practices for SEO and accessibility.

Soft Skills & Collaboration
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders, including product managers and business leaders.
• Track record of delivering high-quality features on schedule in an agile, sprint-based environment.
• A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and bringing fresh ideas to the team.
