Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Technical Solutions Engineer with full-stack expertise in React Native and backend services, focused on delivering Point of Sale (POS) solutions for the food service, retail, and payments industries. This role is ideal for U.S.-authorized candidates in the Philadelphia area who can apply both frontend and backend skills to meet complex client requirements, support sales, and drive technical success. The position requires a balance of engineering rigour and client-facing support to ensure that our solutions align with business objectives and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement POS solutions with React Native for cross-platform mobile interfaces and Node.js (or similar) for backend services. Create and manage RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and ensure secure, efficient data flow between client and server.
• Architect and optimize React Native applications with state management using Redux or MobX, hooks, and context API for data flow. Build native modules and maintain performance across iOS and Android platforms.
• Develop and manage backend services that support the POS platform, using Node.js, Express, and integrating with databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL. Ensure data synchronisation, transactional consistency, and support for real-time updates in POS operations.
• Serve as a technical authority in client interactions, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feature requests, and translate them into full-stack solutions that support business goals.
• Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical guidance during the sales process, highlighting scalability, reliability, and integration strengths of our POS solutions. Support product development by relaying client feedback and translating it into actionable engineering features.
• Lead client support efforts to resolve frontend and backend issues, ensuring high performance and client satisfaction. Provide technical recommendations for system optimization and best practices.
• Connect client needs with internal product teams, prioritise feature enhancements, and contribute insights on POS industry standards to inform engineering efforts.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 8+ years in full-stack engineering roles, including 5+ years in cross-platform mobile application development with React Native, and at least 3+ years with POS solutions for food service, retail, or payment industries.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in React Native with Redux, context API, hooks, and native module development. Strong backend skills in Node.js, Express, and database management (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Client Engagement & Technical Sales Support: Experience in client-facing technical roles, with strong analytical skills for understanding client requirements and supporting sales with engineering insights.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of POS systems, transaction processing, data handling, and industry-specific technical requirements.
• Work Authorization Requirement: Only candidates with valid U.S. work authorization (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or work visa holders) will be considered for this role.
