Employment Type: Contractor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled, confident Java / Spring Boot developer to manage Spring Boot applications running on Docker on AWS Fargate and that utilize DynamoDB / Aurora. Your primary purpose will be to troubleshoot issues in our AWS production environment. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with AWS services and be capable of diagnosing and resolving Java / AWS DevOps bugs effectively. If you have a strong background in containerization and Spring Boot apps using DynamoDB / Aurora, we would love to hear from you.

Your role is to provide technical backup support, container management, and bug fixes to supplement our company engineering staff.

This is an ongoing engagement (at least a year) where you will be trained on our existing AWS infrastructure and do monthly exercises to keep your skills sharp. It is anticipated that training will take approximately 2-3 days and monthly exercises will take approximately 4 hours per month.

Must be available for support issues that arise during a standard working day (8am - 5pm), plus 2 hours before and after the work day in the continental United States. Resolving support issues means researching logs for input/output of REST based APIs, making corrective HTTP requests as needed, implementing bug fixes, and communicating verbally and by email with our customers and technology partners. When a support call / email is received, a 10 min or less response time is required. Resolving an issue may take more time, but business operations must continue as soon as possible. We are engineers too and we know it is important to be able to think through an issue to resolve it. Our applications are very stable. Not all issues will be urgent priority, it is expected that there may be a variety of low-to-high priority issues that may be received. You will receive email communication to coordinate times when we need technical support.

Must sign non-disclosure and non-compete agreements.
