Software Engineer / Python Developer at Ariadne

Ariadne is looking for a bright software engineer with a strong Python background and web application development experience to develop and maintain a biomedical data portal at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. The portal processes and makes publicly available terabytes of rapidly growing genomic data. The system serves millions of users every day and accounts for over 90% of traffic at www.nih.gov.
Required:
• 3+ years of recent Python development experience
• Experience with Django
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Web development experience - HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, CGI, etc.
• Database design/development experience and SQL
• Flexibility and ability to learn and use new technologies
• Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
• Ability to get things done
Beneficial:
• C/C++ development experience and STL
• Experience writing Unix shell scripts
• XML/XSLT knowledge and experience
• Multi-threaded programming experience
• Cross-platform Linux/Windows programming experience
Education:
• BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent is required
• Master's degree is preferred
