đź“ť Rquirements:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience working with Splunk and Linux.
- Understanding of Splunk distributed architecture and data pipelines, with hands-on implementation experience.
- Experience with Splunk client management and app management.
- Integration of Splunk with various data sources such as syslog, flat files, databases, APIs, cloud platform logs, HEC endpoints.
- Proficiency in using Splunk SPL to create searches, reports, alerts, and dashboards.
- Competency with Splunk configuration files to manage inputs, props, transforms, and similar elements.
- Fluency with Linux OS (RHEL or Rocky 8) and Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Scripting experience in languages such as Bash and Python.
- Experience with PowerShell for task automation.
- Development of custom apps.
- Knowledge of Regular Expressions.
- Familiarity with AWS SDK and CLI to programmatically interface with AWS.
👩‍💻👨‍💻 Your responsibilities are:
- I will collect and report on hosted systems.
- I will maintain clustered Splunk infrastructure, including the search head and index cluster, deployment server, deployer, license manager, heavy and universal forwarders, and the Distributed Management Console (DMC).
- I will onboard new data sources and monitor the health of existing data feeds.
- I will deploy and manage Splunk apps, including writing custom apps where needed.
- I will design and implement data flow and access across different networks and system interfaces, such as between Splunk and AWS or between Splunk and network devices.
- I will perform routine maintenance tasks such as adding or deleting indexes, sizing volumes, adding data inputs, patching the operating system, upgrading Splunk, automating routine tasks, and troubleshooting data flow interruptions, data quality issues, and performance issues.
- I will collaborate with other functional teams such as network, storage, and security to provide Splunk service across the entire customer network.
- I will document architecture, create how-to guides, and develop troubleshooting documents.
- I will create dashboards to assist stakeholders with troubleshooting, managing data feed status, and managing audit logs from applications.
- I will collect information for reporting on hosted systems.
