Job Description
Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to build innovative tools and applications within the securitized subsector of fixed income. This hands-on role is ideal for a skilled developer with a passion for backend development and cloud solutions, with the opportunity to pivot from supporting credit analysts to developing tools for portfolio managers (PMs).
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop backend systems with a strong focus on Node.js and JavaScript (95% of the codebase).
• Develop and maintain REST APIs as middleware to support application functionality.
• Collaborate with full-stack teams to work on databases, deployment pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to build and optimize solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Contribute to backend-heavy development (80/20 backend to frontend split), with potential involvement in UI design for future projects.
Qualifications:
• Strong experience with JavaScript (essential), including backend development with Node.js.
• Proven experience with REST API development and integration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud infrastructure.
• Database expertise, including front-to-back data handling.
• Familiarity with Python
• Experience with GraphQL (nice-to-have) and UI design (bonus).
• General financial knowledge (preferred but not required).
