Purpose: To provide Web Development support for MissionNext and MissionWorks websites and the hosting environment.

Key Duties Provides technical expertise and support of MissionNext and MissionWorks websites and Linux hosting environment. Helps maintain website functionality and operation, makes recommendations for functional and performance improvements, and implement enhancements.
Time Commitment This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 10-15 hours per week ongoing. (Initial on-ramp time may be greater.)
Logistics
There is no office space for this position; the candidate will work from home using his/her computer and high-speed internet. Day-to-day interactions will be conducted via email, telephone, and video conferencing.
Worker Status
Part-time position; support-based or self-supported. Approved expenses may be reimbursed.
Responsibilities
• Meet with leadership and co-workers regularly to discuss current and future website improvements, issues, and priorities.
• Attend web development meetings to collaborate and support required changes and improvements.
• Monitor security and perform all necessary updates.
• Help monitor and report web traffic.
• Make requested updates to various websites, minimizing downtime.
• Update content to reflect current SEO trends and make or recommend adjustments to improve SEO.
• Repair any broken links and fix any reported bugs.
• Maintain hosting environment, virtual servers, optimizing speeds, and cost tradeoff.
• Contribute to discussions on ways to improve functionality and usability.
• Collaborate with other teams to meet needs, improve efficiency.
• Must respond to correspondence by email, text messaging, phone calls, and other queries in a timely fashion.
• Monitor the MissionNext, MissionWorks family of WordPress websites including: MissionNext.org, TheMissionApp.com, MissionWorks.global and the MissionWorks Ministry Websites; MissionConnexion, MissionGuide, MissionLinked, MissionArmor, and MissionExcellence.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience); master’s degree is a plus.
• Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus.
• Familiarity with WordPress subsites, Elementor, and various themes is a plus.
Experience and Skills
• 5+ years of experience in WordPress (WP), and WP compatible themes (such as GeneratePress, Levelup, and Astra), various plugins and overall website management.
• Be initiative-taker, who has a positive, can-do attitude, good problem-solving skills and a team player is critical.
• Familiarity with HTML, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache, and Plesk will be helpful.
• Excellent communicator, especially regarding abstract concepts

• Works within the Technology and Web Development team(s) to improve our internet presence through the design and implementation of new web-based functionality that will positively impact on our customers’ experience.
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and tracking pageviews, transactions and events.
• A Christ-follower, personable, good communications and people skills, dependent on prayer, and spiritually mature.
• Agrees with MissionNext Statements of Faith and Spiritual Purpose
