As a WordPress Architect, you have experience working on large digital projects. You use advanced knowledge of PHP & JavaScript to create modular applications with a deep understanding of best practices.
You are able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues about technical and non-technical issues. You provide strategic advice to project stakeholders and work collaboratively with other departments and teams. You can translate client requirements into technical approaches while considering scope and budget.
You help provide technical steer and leadership to the wider team, providing technical insights, advice and code reviews. You are a keen problem-solver and an active participant in strategic & technical discussions within the team.
You take pride in your work, delivering successful projects through clear communication, organization and high-quality code.
Responsibilities:
• Architecting complex custom WordPress solutions
• Adhering to WordPress coding standards & best practices
• Creating custom blocks
• Aiming to solve complex problems and troubleshooting urgent issues
• Collaborating with project managers and development team
• Providing actionable feedback to managers and teammates
• Estimating level of effort for project tasks
Requirements:
• 3+ years experience of hands on WordPress development at an agency level
• Use of Git (GitHub, Azure, GitLab) as well as dev ops tools such as GitHub Actions, Composer, or Buddy Works
• Knowledge of hosting providers such as WP Engine, WPVIP, Pantheon
• Strong communicator to technical & non-technical stakeholders including clients and 3rd party vendors
• Performing code reviews for peers giving constructive feedback
• Strong communication - both technical and non-technical
• Integrating external services including payment processors, membership software, CRM's
Nice to Haves:
• Agile & scrum experience
• Experience working within an agency
• Experience conducting code reviews
• Creating headless WordPress - including Next.JS
• Using composer
• Written production-level React
• Experience of testing - including Cypress
• Contributing to Open Source projects - including WordPress

The US-based salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-$130,000 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
