Job Description
Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and adaptable, with a deep understanding of WordPress development and digital compliance. As a WordPress Developer & Digital Compliance Specialist, you’ll be responsible for building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with industry regulations. You’ll work closely with our design, development, and marketing teams to deliver secure, high-performing websites that meet client needs and comply with evolving digital standards. Whether optimizing server performance or conducting compliance research, you’ll play a key role in delivering custom, user-friendly solutions.
Please note: this opportunity is only available to those living in the state of California.
This is a part-time role, with the potential to become a full-time job for candidates who align well with our team’s needs.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet client needs.
• Code interactive, user-friendly web experiences.
• Manage server setup, performance optimization, and website security for client projects.
• Collaborate with our design and marketing teams to ensure websites are functional, responsive, and user-friendly.
• Conduct research and implement digital compliance best practices (e.g., ADA accessibility, GDPR, CCPA, and other legal requirements).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress sites, hosting, and servers.
• Ensure smooth integration of APIs, third-party services, and custom functionalities.
• Stay up-to-date with WordPress news, industry trends, and evolving compliance standards.
What We’re Looking For:
• 3+ years of experience in WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
• Experience with server management (e.g., hosting environments, DNS management, SSL certificates).
• Knowledge of digital compliance regulations, such as ADA accessibility and GDPR.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Skills:
• Experience with custom development for Squarespace and Shopify.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices.
• Experience in conducting site audits for accessibility and compliance.
