Job Description:
We are looking for a WordPress developer to help us customize and set up our Javo Directory theme for our project. The theme is already installed, but we need someone who can shape it into a fully functional and optimized website, specifically tailored for our needs (vet clinics directory with advanced filters, clinic listings, user reviews, and more). The person will also be responsible for uploading the initial set of listings and preparing the site for SEO optimization.
Job requirements:
1. Theme Customization & Setup:
- Customize the Javo Directory theme to match the specific needs of our platform, Veterify.
- Configure custom fields for clinic listings (e.g., location, services offered, contact details, reviews).
- Set up advanced filters and search functionality (e.g., location, services, ratings).
- Integrate and configure necessary plugins for functionality like SEO, security, performance, and user reviews.
- Ensure the website is responsive and works well on mobile devices.
2) Database & Back-End Development:
- Configure and optimize the database to handle large amounts of clinic data, user reviews, and other directory content.
- Create custom post types and taxonomies as needed for the directory structure.
- Ensure efficient back-end queries for displaying listings and performing searches.
- Handle user registration, clinic registration, and data management.
3) Upload & Prepare Listings:
- Upload and format the first set of clinic listings into the directory, ensuring each listing has the correct information and media (e.g., images, contact details, services).
- Import data from external sources if necessary, ensuring accurate formatting and integration into the site.
- Set up a system to make future listing uploads efficient, including bulk upload options if applicable.
4) SEO & Performance Optimization:
- Configure the site with SEO best practices in mind, optimizing URLs, titles, meta descriptions, and headers for local search (e.g., clinics in specific cities).
- Ensure the website is optimized for fast load times and efficient performance.
- Prepare the site for future SEO efforts, ensuring it's structured in a way that Google can crawl and index the content effectively.
Desired skills:
- Previous experience working with the Javo Directory theme or similar directory themes in WordPress.
- Knowledge of WordPress theme customization.
- Experience with technical SEO and site optimization.
- Ability to work independently and deliver the project "ready-to-go."
