Job Description
Job Title: WordPress Developer
Gridiron IT is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable WordPress solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement complex WordPress solutions
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and implement project requirements and deliverables
• Develop code and provide mentorship to junior developers and customer content creators
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress sites
• Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and best practices
• Ensure all WordPress solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices
• Develop and maintain documentation for projects and processes
• Communicate and collaborate with content developers to advise on solutions and troubleshoot problems
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a WordPress Architect or in a similar development role
• Extensive experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugins (like Gutenberg)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
• Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work closely with customers and other developers
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with headless WordPress and JAMstack architecture
• Familiarity with cloud services and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
• Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques
Security Clearance:
The selected applicant will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Required to clear for a Public Trust Clearance.
