Job Description
We are looking for a Docker expert and mentor to help our team develop a company-wide Docker adoption strategy and provide hands-on consulting. This role will involve collaborating with our Lead Developer to refine the strategy and align it with our PHP/Laravel and JavaScript projects.
Our first objective is to implement Docker for the local developers-side only, not in Production or server-side. As a company that develops long-term projects, we require easier and faster re-assignment to different developers.
Responsibilities:
- Assess our current development environment and provide recommendations for Docker usage.
- Help design a Docker adoption strategy, focusing on containerization for local development workflows.
- Work closely with the Lead Developer to refine the strategy and align it with team objectives.
- Assist in building Docker images and optimizing Dockerfiles for PHP/Laravel and JS-based projects.
- Establish best practices and guidelines for container management, including versioning, networking, and multi-stage builds.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for Docker-related challenges.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with the team to ensure seamless adoption and internal expertise.
Project Scope & Hours:
- Short Term Consulting, with Potential for ongoing consulting as needed.
- Approximately 3 hours per week for 2 weeks (6-8hours), for calls with Lead developers at our team, who will drive adoption.
