Job Description

Catalyst Technical Consulting Group, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that excels in providing engineering, technical, operational support, and training services to the Intelligence and Defense communities. We are seeking a Highly Skilled Python Developer to join our team.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 - $240,000, which includes a comprehensive benefits package including Health/Dental/Vision, 401k, PTO and holiday pay, disability and life insurance.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer who can use their expertise to integrate products within our organization and across the agency baseline. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with container technologies and service-oriented architectures to enhance capabilities that perform geolocations supporting the warfighter.

The responsibilities of this role include:
• Optimizing prototype solutions into efficient production services and integrating them with other services;
• Analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements;
• Debugging existing software and correcting defects;
• Providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards;
• Designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features;
• Integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments;
• Developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories;
• Writing or reviewing software and system documentation;
• Serving as a team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project;
• Designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries;
• Developing or implementing algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards;
• Assisting with developing and executing test procedures for software components;
• Developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas;
• Modifying existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance;
• Designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design;
• Designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Performing quality control on team products.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university;
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree;
• Fourteen (14) years' experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required;
• Experience developing in Python;
• Experience developing Service oriented architectures;
• Experience developing Microservice solutions;
• Experience developing scalable solutions, applicable to both large- and small-scale platforms;
• Experience with Gitlab;
• Experience with container technologies (Preferably Podman, at least Docker).
Desired Skills

We also welcome candidates with experience in:
• Infrastructure message (i.e., ITX);
• Google Proto Buffs;
• Database experience such as Mongo or MySql;
• Agile development practices;
• Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
