We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in developing, maintaining, and improving websites and web applications. You will work closely with our senior web developer to create seamless user experiences and ensure high-quality functionality across all digital platforms.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
• Transform design mockups into mobile-first web experiences
• Write quality code that is readable and maintainable
• Develop custom WordPress themes and components
• Develop WordPress websites using the Elementor page builder
• Communicate directly with clients and account managers to accurately scope and then build new features or requirements
• Develop creative solutions to meet project goals on time and on budget
• Manage existing websites and perform routine updates and testing
• Implement analytics and pixel tracking code using Google tag manager
• Provide assistance to clients and team members using various web technologies to ensure tasks are completed successfully
• Troubleshoot and fix websites
• Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.
• Update DNS records, setup firewalls, and manage managed hosting account
Necessary skills:
• Highly proficient in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of WordPress best practices
• Strong understanding of fundamental programming concepts
• Familiar with Git/GitHub
• Proficient in the command line
• Proficient in web technologies and the browser environment
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience with Flywheel and/or WP Engine Hosting
• Experience with Local
• Experience with Google Tag Manager and GA4
• Experience with Shopify, Wix, and/or Squarespace
• Ability to create custom Gutenberg blocks and custom WordPress themes
• Familiarity with different workflows for local development and deployment for WordPress or for other types of websites
• Understanding of server config
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience with other coding languages such as React
• Strong knowledge of cross-device and cross-browser compatibility
