We are looking for a skilled and experienced Local Support IT Specialist to join our team. This role combines technical support for local users with system administration tasks, including supporting both Windows and Linux environments. The individual shall have a solid background in both Windows and Linux systems, possess excellent troubleshooting skills, and a minimum of six years of experience as a System Admin working in a collaborative IT environment. The individual must have solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day technical support to local users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity in a timely and effective manner.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, and related peripherals.
• Ensure proper setup and integration of Windows-based systems with network resources, such as file shares, printers, and security services.
• Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure security and performance.
• Manage access control, authentication, and authorization for SCIF personnel.
• Manage Windows and Linux account management, including creation, modification, and troubleshooting of user accounts and permissions.
• Provide support for email services and ensure functionality, security, and reliability.
• Assist in managing Network File System (NFS) services and ensuring proper file access and permissions.
• Support security protection mechanisms to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of IT systems.
• Administer and support both Windows and Linux systems, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and resource management.
• Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
• Utilize JIRA and Confluence to organize and document completed work, track issues, and collaborate with the IT team.
• Manage IT service requests, incidents, and problems via ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution and communication with users.
• Provide support for vulnerability scanning efforts to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
• Maintain up-to-date IT documentation, including policies, procedures, technical guides, and inventory management records.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph.
• 5-9 years of experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Degree can be substituted with additional 2 years of relevant experience.
• Certification Requirements: CompTIA Security+ CE (required)
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Proven experience administering both Windows clients and servers.
• Familiarity with the Linux Operating System .
• Proficiency in Linux and NT commands for system management tasks.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with both hardware and software.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
