About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Laravel Engineer with a knack for designing high-quality, scalable architectures and leading product development from concept to completion. Shaping engineers work closely with product managers to understand business needs, make critical architectural decisions, and oversee the development process by guiding a team of implementation engineers. If you have a deep understanding of Laravel, experience in making strategic architectural choices, and enjoy mentoring others, we’d love to connect.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the architecture and design of complex features, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate product requirements into actionable, well-documented technical solutions.
• Make architectural decisions and establish technical patterns for the team to follow.
• Create and assign development tasks to Implementation Engineers, ensuring the final product meets our high standards.
• Conduct in-depth code reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
• Mentor junior developers and Implementation Engineers, fostering growth in best practices and career development.
• Develop and implement testing strategies to ensure reliability and performance.
• Proactively troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement solutions to increase system efficiency.

Qualifications:
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a PHP Developer, working in Laravel or a similar framework.
• Technical Leadership: Proven experience in leading architectural decisions and influencing product design at a high level.
• Backend Proficiency: Expertise in PHP, Laravel, and database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Front-End Familiarity: Working knowledge of front-end technologies like Vue.js, React, or similar.
• API Mastery: Experience with designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• DevOps & Deployment: Knowledge of server management and deployment strategies, including experience with Docker or similar tools.
• Testing & QA: Experience with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit or Laravel Dusk.
• Best Practices: Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and best practices for secure and efficient code.

Bonus Qualifications:
• Experience with AI and OCR tools (e.g., OpenAI) to drive innovation in our product offerings.
• Familiarity with microservices and multi-tenant architecture for SaaS platforms.
• Experience with advanced deployment and containerization strategies (e.g., Kubernetes).

Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make key decisions independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining complex technical concepts.
• Comfortable owning projects, driving them to completion, and mentoring team members along the way.

Location:
• This is a flexible, remote role for candidates based in the U.S.
